We purchased our first block of land knowing that we wanted something different to call our first home. Unfortunately different can also scare a lot of builders off.

Adam was the first builder we spoke to about the possibility of building our home on what can be described at best as a difficult block. Steep with a very long narrow access was enough to rule out most builders but Adam never made us feel like it was too much trouble or that he wasn't up for the challenge.

After getting some plans drawn up we did what most people do and compared quotes and spoke to lots of builders (most walked away) before deciding that Adam's enthusiasm and attitude towards the job was something we really valued.

Adam was always open to our sometimes crazy ideas and never got stressed when we couldn't make up our minds. His boys were great at showing attention to detail and understanding that sometimes the smallest changes meant a lot to us.

The boys had to carry roof trusses 120m up a very steep hill in the middle of summer as there was no way of getting the truck up there sums it up.

Having lived in our home for over a year now we know we made the right choice. Adam often calls to check how we are going and to make sure all is well (which it always is) and we won't hesitate to get them to build for us in the future.

Adam Hoogenhout from A&M Hoogenhout Constructions built our fabulous back deck and front porch. Both areas also required the construction of custom staircases.

Not only did Adam and his team build a deck that was of the highest quality, he also provided invaluable design advice and suggested the best materials to use in the construction of the decks and staircases.
